  • What is 'saponified' oil?
    Saponified oil is oil that has been turned into soap by using lye. Saponification is what the natural soap making process is called.
  • Is there lye in this soap?
    Yes & No....mostly no. You cannot make soap without lye. It is not possible. If all goes correctly during saponification (soap making), there should be no lye remaining once the process is complete. This is why some soap makers say there is no lye in their soap, because technically there isn't. The oils have been saponified using lye. You can, however, make detergent without lye. That is what most commercial 'soap' actually is, and why it is so cheap. The difference between soaps and detergents is that soaps are produced from natural ingredients, while detergents are made from synthetic ones. Soap is made from fat/oils and alkali or base (lye) Detergents are carbonic compounds which are not natural or alkaline. Soap is natural, biodegradable and less harmful to the environment than detergent. It's hard to sell 'Body Detergent'. The word 'soap' appears nowhere on a box of Dove, for example, and 'Body Wash' is a common and much more marketable way to say detergent.
  • Why did my soap turn soft?
    Natural soaps, especially those without synthetic preservatives will last longer if air is allowed to circulate around them. Try to keep your soap out of puddles and/or constant running water & allow it to dry between uses. Using a soap tray that drains well is highly recommended - all of our soaps are $1.00 off when purchased with a soap tray that will make them last longer!
  • Do you make all of the products you sell?
    Indeed I do - or a member of our team does. From start to finish. these are my formulas and blends that were mixed by human hands just for you! We also shopped for all of the ingredients, printed all of the labels, stamped all of the boxes and packed all of the orders!
  • How long will my order take to arrive?
    Shipping time is generally within 1- 2 weeks from the date ordered, but most orders ship much sooner. You will receive shipping confirmation and tracking information once the order has shipped. Items on back order may require an additional 1-2 weeks to arrive, and may delay shipment if ordered with items in stock. Check individual listings to verify back order status. Orders ship in the order they are received. Patience is a virtue and greatly appreciated. I am only one man; sometimes a small team of other humans. We all only have 2 hands. Things take time, especially when they are actually made by hand. This is not Amazon.
  • What does Back Order Mean?
    Popular products may sell out quickly and temporarily be on back order. This means that item is currently out of stock, but there is more being made! Ordering an item that is on back order is a worry-free way to ensure that you will be first in line to receive it as soon as it's ready!
  • Why did my order arrive in an Amazon box?
    We re-use shipping and packing materials to reduce waste and keep shipping costs down.
  • Do you accept returns or exchanges?
    Due to the nature of these products, we cannot accept returns, exchanges or cancellations. We can offer replacements and/or refunds when necessary. If your order was damaged in delivery or delivered to you in an unsatisfactory manner, please let us know immediately. You may be asked to submit photos of the damaged packaging for insurance purposes.
  • Why do the Mint and Salt Soaps burn my delicate skin?
    Science. The tingle you may experience is a natural reaction to actual peppermint. If it feels like it is burning you, soap probably should not go there, especially mint soap. Rinse away any lather or traces of product that causes discomfort and discontinue use. Like spicy foods, some people really enjoy the tingle of peppermint and some do not. You do you and what feels right for you and your body. ***Please note that our Salt Soaps are made with actual salt and should not go anywhere you would not feel comfortable applying salt. For example, open wounds, cuts, eyes..... Do NOT use salt soap to shave with or after shaving!!
  • Can I place a Custom Order?
    Yes! We love custom orders and if possible will gladly make custom products for you! Please note that custom orders are not refundable.
  • Can you make/ship my order with little or no plastic and/or packaging?
    Yes, absolutely!! Send a note or email with your order and we will do our very best to keep your order as simple as possible!
  • Why does the order status say shipped, but the tracking doesn't say anything?"
    Sometimes the shipping label is printed after shipping hours or the package may be stuck somewhere along the way. Tracking info is sent and orders are marked as fulfilled once the shipping label is printed. The Seller is responsible to make, package, and ship purchased items in a timely manner. The Buyer is responsible to furnish an accurate and current address. The USPS or UPS is responsible to safely deliver the package to the address provided. If the USPS or UPS has accepted the package, we literally have absolutely no control over the rest of the delivery process. A tracking number is provided when the shipping label is created. If a package is delayed, lost, mis-delivered or damaged, the Buyer will need to file a claim for reimbursement with USPS. or UPS or appropriate delivery service.
